TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – Airlines and airport personnel have been planning for this busy holiday travel weekend for months. But, it has taken a different twist with the terrorist attacks.
That isn’t stopping travelers from heading to see loved ones this Thanksgiving. “It did cross my mind, but we have plans and we are not going to let things like that slow us down,” Henry Chang said before he and his family caught their flight at Tampa International Airport.
Jessica Wekony, her husband and two children weren’t going to change their travel plans either. They’re headed to Nashville for Thanksgiving. “There is (a) concern, but ultimately, we are not going to stop living so that is kind of how we look at it. We are going to keep going on and have faith that everything is going to be taken care of,” Wekony said.
An increased security presence was easy to see around the airport. Airport police and their canines were constantly making the rounds.
