Aucun progrs n'a t observ dans les ngociations avant la ministrielle de l'OMC prvue en dcembre Nairobi. "Nous devrons nous battre srieusement" pour atteindre un rsultat et rflchir "notre avenir", a reconnu jeudi le directeur gnral Roberto Azevedo.
La runion ministrielle du 15 au 18 dcembre sera la premire organise en Afrique. Tout un symbole, selon le directeur gnral de l'Organisation mondiale du commerce (OMC). "Nous voulons obtenir des succs pour l'Afrique et les pays en dveloppement", a dit Genve devant la presse M. Azevedo.
Il espre notamment des progrs sur le paquet pour les pays les moins avancs (PMA). Au total, 46 Etats, dont la Suisse, ont dj notifi un traitement prfrentiel pour ces pays. Des amliorations sont possibles sur ce point et sur l'harmonisation des rgles d'origine, selon M. Azevedo.
Mais aucune avance n'est garantie d'ici Nairobi, notamment sur la concurrence agricole, malgr une nouvelle proposition amricaine, ou la scurit alimentaire.
